Now based in Port Macquarie, we bring a wealth of expertise that was initially honed in Sydney’s Northern Beaches and Lower North Shore. Our team is small, dedicated, and approachable, and we pride ourselves on maintaining close client relationships throughout each project.
Led by owner Ben Donald, a fully licensed Master Builder, we ensure that every job is completed to the highest standards, on time, and within budget. Ben is actively involved on-site, overseeing the work and ensuring our team meets the industry’s best practices.
Having collaborated with a wide range of architects, we stay ahead of architectural trends, making sure our work reflects the latest design innovations. With a trusted network of architects, designers, and contractors (many of whom have been with us for over 20 years), we offer a complete building service tailored to your needs.

About Us
The roots of Graphite Constructions Pty Ltd run deep in the building industry, beginning in the 1960s when Ben Donald’s father, John Donald, was actively involved in construction projects across Sydney. John established JK and JT Donald Pty Ltd, a company that operated successfully for over 40 years, earning a reputation for quality craftsmanship and trusted service.
Growing up on building sites, Ben’s passion for construction was sparked early. His official career began in 1990 with a carpentry apprenticeship within the family business. By 1993, Ben had completed his apprenticeship, becoming a licensed carpenter and joiner, gaining hands-on experience on numerous residential projects throughout Sydney’s Northern Beaches and Lower North Shore.
In 2005, Ben took the next step in his career by operating as a sole trader, focusing on low-rise residential builds in the Northern Beaches and Lower North Shore. In 2011, the business was formally registered as Graphite Constructions.
Since then, Graphite Constructions has steadily grown through word-of-mouth referrals and the loyalty of satisfied clients. Our philosophy has never been to become the largest builder but to maintain a smaller, highly satisfied client base built on trust, quality, and personal service.
This commitment to excellence and client satisfaction has helped us build a respected name in the industry—a legacy that has spanned over four decades and continues today as we proudly serve the Port Macquarie community.
